FAQ
-
Do the goats actually enjoy hiking?
They live for it. Owen takes it upon himself to make sure no one stays behind, and Pebbelina loves being admired.
-
Do you hike in winter?
Absolutely — winter hikes are some of the most magical. Snowflakes land on their double-layer winter coats (fun fact: goats have a built-in puffy parka!) and everything feels quiet and enchanted.
-
Can kids join?
Yes! Little explorers are welcome with supervision. Ask about our short and sweet hike!
-
Can I take photos?
Yes — and you absolutely should. The goats are natural models.
-
Can I bring snacks or water?
Yes, but keep snacks tucked away — goats are talented snack detectives.
-
Do you offer private hikes?
Yes! Perfect for families, celebrations, friend groups, and anyone wanting a one-of-a-kind goat-guided outing. Payment of your invoice secures the date.
-
Can we make this an overnight or reunion-style experience?
Yes — we can create a truly unique gathering or overnight escape filled with goats, nature, and cozy connection.
-
Do you offer gift cards?
We do! Goat hikes make unforgettable Christmas gifts, birthdays, surprises, and "just because you deserve joy" moments.
-
Are dogs allowed on hikes?
No. Dogs can stress the goats, and this is their safe, happy place.
-
Do you run hikes in rain or light snow?
Yes — goats don’t mind a little weather. For unsafe conditions, we’ll reschedule.
-
What should I wear?
Dress for the forest: sturdy footwear, cozy layers, and clothing you’re okay getting a gentle nibble on.
-
Which goats will be on our hike?
It depends! Our goats choose their adventures based on mood, weather, group size, and pure goat intuition. Some absolutely love leading the way… and others prefer staying home for snacks and a comfy nap (yes, we have goat couch potatoes — they’re just like humans!).
-
Where can I follow the adventures?
Instagram, Facebook & TikTok — @TheGreatGoatEscape. Expect laughter, hiking goats, surprise animals, market moments, and behind-the-scenes magic.
-
Do you offer coupons or promotions?
Occasionally! Often tied to markets, holidays, or seasonal fun.
-
Are there security cameras on the property?
Yes. Exterior cameras are present on the property and in the barn area during kidding season for safety.
-
Cabin Drinking Water - Is the water safe to drink?
Yes. The cabin uses well water, and it is safe and drinkable.
It may taste slightly different than city water — that’s because it comes straight from the earth. We recommend bringing bottled water only if you prefer a specific taste.
-
Do you post photos of guests?
Guest privacy is important to us. We do not post identifiable photos without consent.
You may opt in to media use during booking. -
Can I book a weekday hike?
Yes, sometimes. Weekend hikes are available online, and weekday hikes are available by request depending on my schedule and herd care. Reach out with your preferred date, time, and number of guests.
-
Can I book the cabin online?
Not right now. Cabin stays are currently booked directly through me so I can keep the hike schedule, cabin timing, and goat experiences balanced.
-
Do you still offer milking demos?
Not at this time. We do not have pregnant mamas confirmed, so milking demos are not currently available. Baby goat bottle-feed and cuddle sessions are available instead.
